Beginning at the courtyard, a gravel path winds up past flowers, herbs and succulents to a flagstone-paved area on top of the knoll. With a tall oak and an arbor as backdrops, this is a compelling spot for photos. From this height you can see a quintessential Marin panorama: Terra Linda and Mt. Tamalpais to the west and southwest; the wooded hills that run south of Santa Venetia from Civic Center to China Camp; and a commanding view of San Pablo Bay.
