George Pegelow, Lead Youth Advisor, UUCM
Guest speaker George Pegelow will explore the ways ancient Taoists might deal with the challenges of the 21st century if they were suddenly transported forward in time. Audience participation, especially by young people, will be encouraged.
George Pegelow graduated from Stanford and went on to teach many courses there over the next 25 years, among them Taoism: The Search for Perfect Peace and the Experimental Seminar on Optimal Human Performance. George also was hired as a Special Skills Coach by Bill Walsh to work with the San Francisco 49ers during the glory years of the early 1980s.
George has served on the Marin Human Rights Commission and on the board of the ACLU of Northern California. In 2004, he was a recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award. In his spare time, he likes to meditate, listen to jazz, classical and rock music. He also plays piano, drums and bamboo flute (but not simultaneously).
