Our worship theme for July is “Play.” Often we think of ourselves as “Seekers.” In his recent book, The Finders, psychologist Jeffrey Martin says that he has found that the most mature and resilient people all find a way to “go with the holy flow.” Could it be that we resist finding out how to do that? Perhaps because it would also mean being found?

We welcome back to UUCM Rev. John Buehrens. He is the author or co-author of nine books on progressive religion, most recently A Religious Center With a Civic Circumference: Unitarians in San Francisco Since 1850. He and his wife of 53 years, Rev. Gwen Langdoc Buehrens, a priest in the Episcopal Church, live in that city but hope to move to Marin in a year or two.

John served as UUA President from 1993 to 2001.
