Our culture has taught us to understand our relationship to the land as one of owner to resource. We are inheritors of a tradition that teaches instead a relationship of stewardship. The first peoples of the land we live on saw their relationship to the earth in yet another way. As we debate the uses of land in our current political climate, what is the earth trying to cultivate in its relationship with us?
