Come explore the fluid, flirtatious boundary between fools and sages, between “illusions” and “reality.” As informed, engaged citizens of the world, sometimes we feel exhausted and overwhelmed with the complex challenges we face in the 21st century. Can we find a balance between saving and savoring our beautiful, broken world?
The Reverend Laurel Liefert is not only the mother of Rev. Marcus, but a UU minister herself. She retired this summer from eleven years of ministry in Loveland, Colorado.
She has returned to the Bay Area with her partner of 39 years to live near their two sons, one grandson and countless old friends from the 30 years she spent here before moving to Colorado. Rev. Laurel practiced and taught law for many years. She first felt called to professional UU ministry when serving as a lay leader at her home congregation, the First Unitarian Church of Oakland. Rev. Laurel is a graduate from Cal State Fresno, UC Davis King Hall School of Law, and Starr King School for the Ministry.
She is delighted to speak to us this morning.
