El Dia de los Muertos is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1, 2, and in some locations November 6th. In many parts of Latin America families go to the gravesites of loved ones to picnic and attend to their tombs. It is experienced as a holiday of joyful celebration rather than mourning.
In Mexico, in addition to fiestas in cemeteries, there are also remembrances that happen at home or in public spaces by decorating an ofrenda with photos and memorabilia of the departed.
Come join us in person this Sunday in an intergenerational service and bring a picture of your departed beloved to place on our ofrenda. If you wish to join us online, we suggest you set up your own ofrenda of someone you wish to remember with pictures, flowers, and items that remind you of them. You can log on here.
