Faith can be one of those challenging words for Unitarian Universalists. But what if faith isn’t about believing in the unbelievable, but instead an act of courageous hope in the face of ultimate uncertainty? Christian preachers of the “Prosperity Gospel” and New Age pop-theology movements like The Secret, among others, espouse a belief in the power of manifestation. How do we interpret these ideas and make meaning of the power of expectation to shape experience?
