Our democracy is often defended most fiercely by those on the margins whom we try to exclude from it. America’s past is full of stories of immigrants, queer and trans folx, people of color, who answered a call to serve the cause of freedom, even when it didn’t include them yet. Let us come together this Sunday to honor that sacred history which some are actively trying to erase. To lift up the voices of the unsung heroes.
