Fear of Forgiveness

October’s worship theme is Fear. An innate primal human emotion that often helps to keep us safe, fear can also be an inhibitor to our deep need for connectivity, love, and  transcendence.

On this Sunday, nestled between Yom Kippur & Indigenous People’s Day, let us parse out the complex inner journey toward forgiveness. Forgiveness of ourselves and others, forgiveness of an interpersonal and even international nature. How do we move forward as individuals, as a congregation, as a country, as a global community without wrestling with the question… Can I both forgive & be forgiven?
