“The holy is nothing but the ordinary
held up to the light and profoundly seen.”
anon

In the Spring of 2021, a group of UU Marin members completed an eight-session workshop on the tender tasks of memoir writing, deep listening, and radical acceptance.

Our work was grounded in and guided by our Unitarian Universalist covenant to affirm and promote
…The inherent worth and dignity of every person (first principle)
…Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth, (third principle) and
…A free and responsible search for truth and meaning (fourth principle)

While our journey together involved writing (for those who chose to do so), it was about something much more powerful than grammatical correctness or poetic flair. In our work, we tapped into
… the wisdom of that still small voice within
… the healing power of memory
… the spiritual hospitality of deep listening
… the power of affirmation to support one another in telling our stories

In our Service today, we will share some of our stories with you.
