Covenant is the foundation of our chosen faith. A spiritual compact we make to be in a committed relationship no matter the circumstances that swirl around us. This month we’ll explore the various aspects of how and with whom we covenant. We can make a spiritual compact with a higher power or purpose, with an institution, or with our fellow congregants. But to a certain extent, those are pretty easy. They’re entered into with other willing participants. But what about the world at large? What about living our values out in a society that more often than not is disinterested in our covenantal commitments? How do we remain true to our spiritual convictions and remain engaged participants in an imperfect world?
