Sometimes it is easier to make sense of a story if you know how it ends. When we reflect on our past, we can sometimes think we can see how we ended up where we are now. We can even create a narrative that defines our life story and how it will continue to unfold. We may think we are the main character, but in real life everyone thinks that they are the main character. Can we come to appreciate that sometimes we are playing the lead, but that much of the time we are simply extras and have large or small supporting roles in other people’s movies?
