Our fears, self-doubts, skepticism, and hesitation are not trying to hurt us. They are trying to protect us from being hurt, hoodwinked, or led on a wild goose chase. The only problem is that they sometimes get a little over-enthusiastic. They may take their job a little too seriously. But they are friends. Not masters, but allies. They should not be indulged, but neither should they be ignored or vanquished. Our attitude toward our fear and doubt mirrors our attitude toward life. If we are willing to engage the demons as friends and lovers, life becomes a dance to be danced.
